Game time

Jaran and I got lucky this weekend... we were invited to the Utes game Halloween night with our friends Brock and McCall. Sadly we've never been to a game and Jaran's been going to the U for a year now so we definitely took them up on their offer! It was a lot of fun because it was BLACK OUT, and almost everyone dressed in black. They beat Wyoming 22-10!

Monday night we got lucky again! Jaran's other friend Bryan and his wife Heidi invited us to go to the Jazz game with them.. and neither of us have been to one in years! They had awesome seats too- we were kiddy-corner from where the players sit. I'm a huge Jazz fan, too bad they're not off to a great start :(

The starters coming off towards the end when Houston had the win in the bag. We still had fun though even though they lost!

pumpkin carvin, apple dippin, chili eatin kinda week

Last Monday and Wednesday mine and Jaran's family both got together to carve pumpkins and make caramel apples for Halloween. Every year Jaran comes up with a crazy idea for his pumpkin carving.. and he didn't disappoint this year! He cut open the bottom instead of the top, scooped out the insides and then put them on top of the pumpkin to make it looked like an exposed brain.. how creative :)

Friday night we had a ward Halloween party and Jaran and I signed up to bring chili for a chili cook off. Jaran has been on this kick lately where he is loving buying the hottest hot sauce that he can find.. even if it means buying it online. Yes, he bought 3 of the world's hottest sauces made with the ghost pepper and it's pure extract. He's crazy, but loves it and can stand eating it which is even more crazy. Needless to say.. he won the hottest/spiciest chili at the party.

Every Halloween Jaran sews his own costume and this year he seriously did it in like 2 hours. I was impressed.. he wanted to be "Green Man".. and green he was. A full body suit. He loved it. We went to the Utes game that night (post to come) and then went to our friend Brock and Betsy's house for a party with some of our friends and made a bonfire. What an eventful Halloween week we had!

Yellowstone

October 13-15 was the week of Jaran's spring break at the U, so our friends Brock and Betsy Loomis invited us to go to Yellowstone with them. Their family has a time share in West Yellowstone where we stayed which was way nice. The first night we got there we walked around town and went to a bunch of stores and gift shops, then ate dinner at the Bear Tooth Barbeque, so good! When we got back to our condo we went swimming, played Yahtzee, then went to bed so we could get up early and go into the park.

So excited to be in Montana!

The weather all day was cold! It rained off and on, and as we got higher up there was lots of snow already. There wasn't a lot of people there so we didn't have to deal with crowds which was nice, and because it was so cold it made the steam from all the hot pots look so much cooler!

We were lucky enough to see Old Faithful when it wasn't raining. It cleared up for a bit and we only waited for about 30 minutes for it to go off!

Brock eating his lunch in the car with us... this crow on top of the hood decided to join us too!

We saw quite a few animals- mostly just deer, antelope, and buffalo though. No bears unfortunately which is what we hoped for.

This picture is hard to see but I thought it was cool because all you can tell how foggy it was around us by some of the hot pots

After we left the park we went out for Pizza that night and went swimming again, then packed up and headed home the next day. We had a great time getting away for a few days and loved Yellowstone!
